Service Description

The early childhood curriculum Te Whāriki describes the education and care of infants and toddlers as “specialised” and “neither a scaled-down three- or four-year-old programme nor a baby-sitting arrangement” (Ministry of Education, 1996, p. 22). This workshop will challenge practitioners to reflect upon their curriculum approaches and explore contemporary infants and toddlers practices and strategies that promote their rights to high quality education and care. This PD is tailored for under 2 year olds, however can be beneficial for most kaiako. PRESENTED BY EXPERIENCED PD FACILITATOR LOUISE STRODE – PENNY. Louise has over 3 decades of experience in a variety of roles including teaching, leadership, lecturing and mentoring both in New Zealand and Australia. She looks forward to sharing her insight with you to strengthen teacher practices.
